Jimena Velarde-Alvarez
⟢ b. 2001, Lima, Peru

Rooted in quiet inquiry, Jimena’s work reflects on the tension between permanence and impermanence. Her practice moves through themes of memory, time, connection, and the inner landscape, tracing echoes of lived experience. Through layered surfaces and shifting forms, she evokes an awareness of the self in the transient nature of reality. She invites the viewer into a state of reflection—attuned to the invisible currents that move beneath the surface of consciousness and memory.

Themes: Transience, presence, longing, permanence, impermanence, distance, time, reflection, cycles, symbolism,  symmetry

She received a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design

Based in Brooklyn, NY
